Work Experience

Work experience is an important part of all our courses.  We match our students with a local company in the area they are studying in and they complete work experience one day a week.

This means that at the end of the year, each and every student has experienced being in a workplace, dealing with customers and clients, advertising and promoting and engaging with their peers.  It also means they have a very good and relevant reference to fall back on in the future.  Some of our students have successfully been offered full time jobs in their work experience placement when they finish their course.

Longford College of further Education would like to thank the employers who have given our students work experience. The work experience module is a core module for all students, and so the provision of work experience allows our students to satisfy a module requirement and also learn about a particular industry and improve their skills. Having completed a work experience placement is invaluable to our students. We greatly appreciate employers accommodating our students for their work placements.

If you are an employer and would like to provide work experience for Longford College students please get in touch. We are always looking to create links with local businesses. Our students are available one day a week and also over the mid-term and Easter breaks. Our students are fully insured whilst out on Work Experience.
