Course Duration: One Year Full Time (September – May)

Course Description:

The aim of this programme is to enable the learner acquire the knowledge, skill and competence required to work independently or in a supervisory role in a range of health services contexts and or to progress to higher education and training.

Entry Requirements:

QQI Level 5 Award or equivalent. Consideration will be given to mature applicants (aged over 23) who do not meet these requirements

Progression Opportunities: On completion of this programme learners will have the knowledge, skills and competencies required to work independently or in a supervisory role in a range of health services contexts and or to progress to higher education and training.

Fees:

· Student Services Registration Fee: €50

· QQI Examination Fees: €80 (medical card holders are exempt)

Structure of the Course:

A timetable will be given to you at the start of the course. Your timetable will run over three and a half days per week. Level 6 healthcare students will be off each Monday for work experience.

You will be given a College email address and access to Microsoft Teams where all resources will be made available. In order to achieve the overall QQI Level 6 Healthcare Supervisory award you are required to pass the 8 modules.

Learning Support – extra classes may be provided for students who have educational psychological reports. Please let me know if you require support, this is confidential.

Work Experience

Work Experience is an important part of the course. You are required to complete 100 – 120 hours of work experience in a healthcare setting.
